Rep For Vets (Advocates for Disabled Vets, LLC) is a national disability advocacy firm headquartered in Tampa, Florida. Our VA-accredited claims agents and attorneys help Veterans and their dependents in all 50 states and U.S. territories file for, increase, and appeal VA disability ratings. This page explains what we do, and just as importantly, what we do not do.
Rep For Vets is not a charity, a nonprofit, or a government agency. We are a private advocacy firm, and representing Veterans on VA disability claims is the only work we do. Every member of our representation team is accredited by the VA Office of General Counsel under 38 CFR 14.629. Most of our intake specialists are Veterans who have used VA services themselves. Rep For Vets is affiliated with the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (NOVA).
We provide accredited representation for VA disability compensation claims. Our work includes:
Our services are administrative and legal in nature. They are not medical services.
Rep For Vets is not a medical practice, clinic, hospital, telehealth service, or health and wellness company. We do not employ physicians, nurses, therapists, or other licensed health care providers to treat Veterans.
We do not:
When our pages describe a medical condition, such as PTSD, tinnitus, or sleep apnea, that information explains how VA rates the condition for disability compensation under 38 CFR Part 4. It is not health information and should not be used to make decisions about your care. Always talk with your own doctor or health care provider about symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.
Rep For Vets does not sell, market, or distribute medical devices, prescription or over-the-counter drugs, supplements, hearing aids, CPAP machines, mobility equipment, insurance products, or any other health or wellness product. We do not receive payment from medical product manufacturers, pharmacies, or health care providers.
Medical evidence is a key part of most VA disability claims. Some claims also need a nexus letter: a written opinion from a licensed medical professional stating whether a current condition is at least as likely as not connected to military service. As your representative, we help you identify, request, and organize the records you already have, including service treatment records, VA medical records, and private treatment records.
When a claim needs a medical opinion that your own doctor cannot provide, Rep For Vets can help connect you with independent, third-party physicians who review records and write nexus opinions. This is not part of every case. These physicians are not employed by Rep For Vets, and each opinion reflects the physician’s own professional judgment. Rep For Vets does not charge any fee for helping you obtain a nexus letter, and we receive no payment from the physicians who write them.
Rep For Vets is a private company. We are not part of, endorsed by, or affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any other government agency. VA makes all final decisions on claims, ratings, and benefits.
Every claim is decided on its own facts and evidence. Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome, and no representative can promise a specific rating, effective date, or award amount.
Rep For Vets works on a contingency basis. Our fee is no more than 20% of the past-due benefits VA awards you, and it is owed only if your claim succeeds. Fees are never taken from your ongoing monthly payments.
Every fee is set out in a written fee agreement that you review and sign before we represent you, and all fees follow the rules in 38 CFR 14.636. Our free benefits review carries no cost and no obligation. Learn more on our How Our Fees Work page.
Rep For Vets is not a law firm. Some of our VA-accredited representatives are attorneys, but our representation is limited to VA disability claims and appeals. We do not provide legal advice or representation on any other legal matter.
Content on this website is for general educational purposes about VA disability benefits. It is not medical advice and does not create a representation relationship. Representation begins only after you sign the required VA forms and a written agreement with Rep For Vets. We review our content against current VA regulations, but VA rules and compensation rates change, so details may differ from your situation.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988 and press 1 to reach the Veterans Crisis Line, available 24 hours a day.
